She spent several years researching personality psychology before publishing Quiet in 2012, which became a number-one New York Times bestseller and one of the most-watched TED talks of the decade. She is the co-founder of Quiet Revolution, an organization focused on introvert empowerment in schools and workplaces, and the author of Bittersweet: How Sorrow and Longing Make Us Whole (2022). Her work draws on temperament research, neuroscience, and cultural history.
