She co-founded the AI Now Institute at New York University and has advised policymakers in the United States and Europe on AI governance. Her work focuses on the social and political implications of artificial intelligence, and she has written widely for academic journals, The Atlantic, and Nature. Atlas of AI won the Surveillance Studies Book Prize and was named a book of the year by multiple publications.
