Bert Dodson is an American illustrator and drawing teacher who has illustrated more than eighty books across children's, educational, and trade titles. Keys to Drawing, published by North Light Books in 1985, grew out of his years teaching drawing and became one of the best-selling instructional art books of its era, still widely assigned in beginning classes decades later. He followed it in 2006 with Keys to Drawing with Imagination, which extends his exercise-driven method from observation into invention and personal style.
