He has covered technology for Newsweek, the New York Times, and Bloomberg for more than twenty years. The Everything Store, published in 2013, won the Financial Times and Goldman Sachs Business Book of the Year Award. He followed it with The Upstarts, about Uber and Airbnb, and Amazon Unbound, a 2021 update covering Amazon's expansion into healthcare, entertainment, and satellite communications.
