He has conducted research on dopamine, addiction, and mood disorders, and he treats patients with conditions including depression, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. Michael E. Long is a writer and communications consultant who collaborated with Lieberman to translate the neuroscience into narrative form. The Molecule of More, published in 2018, is their first book together and has been translated into over twenty languages.
